Fishers of Men is currently trying to find partners to help us raise the funds to construct a medical facility at the Kimondo Academy. Medical attention in Kenya is very difficult to receive due to the lack of money the lack of vehicles and even more so the lack of paved roads to operate those vehicles on, this can turn even the most common medical conditions into serious life threatening illnesses. We are trying to meet this need effectively by building a well equipped medical center that would be able to serve residents in a 40 square mile radius with medical attention and even a ride to pick them up to come to the clinic.
What do we need to complete this project?
- Since we are starting this project from the beginning we will need building materials, construction costs, vehicles, clinic equipment, pharmaceuticals, medical office supplies, telephones and more.
What can you do to help?
- We need people to be praying in the partners to see this project come to life. We will be taking donations from the bellow links as well.
How will this medical clinic effect the Kimondo Academy?
- Early in 2010 there was a severe outbreak of Cholera in the village, which left many of the children sick and all of them needing more medication to prevent them from getting sick. This outbreak came at a time when the roads were severely damaged due to rain, getting all of the kids into town to be looked at paired with the cost of medical attention cost around $1600.00. This cost would have been a fraction of that amount if medical attention were available on site. Also tragicaly during the outbreak a child lost their life, he had a compromised immune system already and not having a clinic near for immediate attention proved to be fatal.
