General Donations

THE WAY WE OPERATE: Fishers of Men Ministries makes sure that all of the funds donated towards the sponsorship, needs, and upkeep of the children in Kenya goes directly to them. No percentages are taken out of the donations to pay for administration or other general needs of the ministry. All of the administration and general needs of the Ministry are taken care of by volunteers.

NEEDS: Because all the money that is donated to the Sponsorship Process goes directly to the needs of the children in Kenya, we do have a need for general donations.

WHAT DO GENERAL DONATIONS GO TOWARDS?

  • WATER: We are raising money to drill a well in order to address one of the most pressing needs at this time: water. The Rock Church of the Quad Cities, located in Davenport, Iowa, recently built one of the largest churches to date in the Eastern Kenya Region. The local people must travel over 15 miles on foot to get drinking water.
  • CONSTRUCTION: We need to expand our orphanage in order to accommodate more children. Currently, over 125 orphans and very needy children are being cared for at the FOM Mission. All of these children receive 3 meals a day, medical care, education, clothing, and most of all, the love of Christ. Over half of these children call the Orphanage their home. If we can raise the funds, we will be able to expand the Orphanage and help more children. The increase in the number of children we will be able to reach will be a blessing, but more funds will be necessary to house them and fulfill their needs. We are also hoping to construct housing for our staff members.
  • ADMINISTRATION: We need funding to cover office expenses such as web hosting, Internet access, phone bills, administration salary, travel expenses, etc. General donations also help us fill gaps in Sponsorship coverage when sponsors are unable to send in donations for their children.

IS A GENERAL DONATION THE CHOICE FOR YOU? General donations are a great way to help out Fishers of Men and it is not a requirement that you sponsor a child to donate. If you feel compelled to help but are unable to commit to the consistency of the monthly sponsorship of a child, a general donation is a great way to get involved.
